Rabies
Rabies is a deadly disease. Animals with fur or hair can have rabies. Protect yourself. Obtain a license for your dog. Avoid wild or strange animals. Keep your pet on a leash and away from wildlife. Have your pet vaccinated for rabies and call your local health department if bitten.
The Ashtabula County Rabies Prevention Task Force urges all dog and cat owners to vaccinate their pets for rabies. Mandatory rabies vaccinations for all dogs and cats sixteen weeks or older is the law in Ashtabula County. Dogs and cats infected with rabies will eventually die.
